For many years, people have believed that ghosts do not exist and have tried to find evidence to support that fact. I was personally never sure what to believe? I had watched many Fictional Horror films, X files, Most Haunted etc and was still uncertain as to whether ghosts or spirits were fact or fictional? The thought that ghosts existed amongst us in our everyday life was not only laughable, it was quiet frankly, scary!
I have been an employee of Afterdark, Cactus Jacks and the Havana Club for nearly four years, during which time there have been many people who have felt a presence or heard mysterious sounds between the two nightclubs. So we decided to have a Ghost Hunt. It was very exciting to think we may find some proof of ghosts or spirits within the walls of Afterdark!
We arrived at the club at 10.00pm. Jason Sherlock, the official ghost hunter was already setting up his equipment. I brought along a video camera and a digital camera. There were nine of us in total, including Jason and me. The others were, Mel Philpott, Gemma Bridges, Hayley Loughton, Elena Teasdale, Chris Lester, Karen Hamlyn, Chris Moore, myself and Jason the Ghosthunter. I set the video camera up in the VIP Lounge to see if we could catch any orbs or movement while we were moving around the club. We talked about experiences that we each had in the past. It was interesting to hear what other people had to say on the subject.
The silence within After Dark was very eerie and while we had been talking Hayley had already taken some pictures. She passed the camera around and sure enough we had an orb above us!!
Jason told us that because we had been talking and felt calm and relaxed that the spirits were brave and intrigued by us. We all went down to the cellar and if we had thought upstairs was eerie then we had thought wrong. We were in total darkness, had no lights on and it was very unnerving. We all sat down on the floor and continued the conversation from upstairs. It started to get very cold in the cellar, almost icy. Jason took a photograph of the far corner of the cellar and it showed a very big orb. It was very quiet. All of a sudden my whole body started to go cold and numb and I started to cry. I felt very scared. After a few minutes it just stopped and I felt normal. I could not explain what had happened. We didn’t stay down there for much longer!!
Next we went upstairs and took some more photographs. Above us there were numerous orbs, it was unbelievable! By this time everyone was really freaked out so we went and sat on the seats in the corner of the club and took photos from where we were sat. There were orbs everywhere, small, medium and large. Afterwards we went back downstairs to look and talk through our findings. In the righthand corner of one of my pictures there was a light cloudy spot. I zoomed in further and further and it started to become clearer. I had taken a picture of a ghost!! Looking closely you could see eyes, nose, mouth, everything. It was crouched down next to the railings and looked very troubled. I couldn’t believe it, I had proof that ghosts existed. I showed the picture to everyone and they all agreed they thought the same. We decided to have a break for 10 minutes and finish the night off in the cellar to see if we could see anything down there. I was dubious about going down there after what had happened earlier in the night. We sat downstairs and I made sure this time that I was far away from where I was sat before. It was very quiet then really quickly a small stone was thrown in the corner. Nobody was sat there and there weren’t any stones near us to be thrown! We took some photos and there were some orbs. Nobody wanted to stay down there after that so we retreated back upstairs. We talked about the night then decided to stop for the evening. The night really opened my eyes. I had seen, heard and felt a lot of things and I’m so pleased that I went through with it. If anybody ever gets the chance to have a ghost hunt then do it because if you’re like I was, a bit sceptic, then it will really open your eyes.

Orbs
Orbs are transparent balls of light commonly found in photos. Orbs have even been recorded on video moving across rooms. Orbs fascinate many, as they are commonly captured in purported haunted places...
Orbs (also known as "ghost orbs" or "spirit orbs") are often thought to be the souls of people, as they appear as "balls of light" apparently floating or moving in the picture. Sometimes, orbs can appear in colours, such as blue, green, red, etc. Some orb images, however, are caused by flash reflection off of glass, mirrors, walls, dust, moisture and even insects. Digital cameras seem to take a higher amount of orbs in photos. Some orbs are definitely energy, and energy is spirit. However, no one knows what this energy is, for sure. Plasma balls of light or ghost lights (orbs) have been proven to be electrically charged. Spirit (or ghost) orbs will normally have a more solid centre, without any spokes radiating from the centre. Paranormal orbs have even been photographed with faces in them - whether a coincidence, is for the viewer to determine. Basic Equipment:- Digital camera higher the pixel the better, digital Cam Recorder (must have night vision) Tape recorder to pick up sound, EMF meter to pick up electrical pulses spirit produce (orbs) a compass works as well.
